Viešvilė Žuvitakis - Fish the way to the spawning grounds PLAY
Viešvilė River is the right tributary of the Nemunas. The river length of 22 km. Great part of the river (about 16 km) is Viešvilė State Nature Reserve and its buffer zone. It's been a valuable salmonid river, had abundant trout population, which is due to the pre-war built on the river ponds (Viešvilė - 4.5 hectares, 2.7 km from the mouth and Gulbinų - 6.7 hectares, 4.2 km from the mouth) with fish impassable dams almost completely disappeared because the fish could not reach above the ponds in the spawning grounds.
